Hello Minnesota Korean Graduate Student Association,
My name is Jessi McFarland and I am with the TandemPlus Student Association. TandemPlus is a long-standing language and cultural exchange program through the CLA Language Center. The program provides all language learners the opportunity to find a language partner for a semester of practice and exchange. The program is free and voluntary.
We are contacting you because we currently have 24 unpaired English speakers who are looking for Korean speakers to pair up with for language exchange this semester. The way it works is simple: students register at tandemplus.umn.edu with either their UMN Internet ID, or a personal email. Once in the program, and paired, partners contact one another and establish a schedule for meeting – when, where, and how often they meet is up to them – practicing half of each session on each language.
If you're interested in passing the opportunity along to your members, please do so! We also have an event tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 10th) that everyone is welcome to join. Attached are flyers for the program and event. Feel free to it pass along via email or social media. Of course, we are interested in reciprocating, and can advertise for your events to our participants in our newsletter, or pass the flyers along to them. TPSA is often seeking to collaborate on events as well.
Let us know if you have any questions!
Thanks,
Jessi
