Job Title Sr Vacuum Process Engineer
About the Role – You will:
Continually use Six Sigma methodologies and techniques to maximize the performance, or minimize the variability, of product through active hands-on completion of structured experiments and OFATs (One Factor at a Time experiments) on the vacuum equipment.
Maintain and improve process control and process control systems across multiple manufacturing tools and to implement SPC charts and to author Out-of-Control Action Plans (OCAPs) and Material Dispositioning instructions for production parts.
In addition to maintaining all process documentation and ensuring process congruency across manufacturing sites, you will also evaluate and introduce new production equipment into the manufacturing line and create all necessary associated manufacturing documentation, instructing and certifying production personnel during all working shifts on documented process procedures.
Oversee manufacturing issues (scrap, rework, cycle-time reduction, multiple-path maintenance) as top priorities.
About Our Group
This position will work with the Vacuum Process Engineering team to control and optimize the processes and toolings used to build the recording heads that go into every Seagate Hard Disc Drive (HDD).
About You:
Experience determining key process input variables using statistical DoE (Design of Experiment) methods to maximize performance and yield of product.
Demonstrated ability to gather data, develop presentations and defend conclusions with other engineering and support groups to insure congruency of product performance
Your Experience Includes:
Demonstrated experience developing and optimizing vacuum-based process via Design of Experiment.
Demonstrated experience writing process documentation.
Proven ability to develop, optimize, implement and control new and existing processes for Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD, both RF and DC) and Ion Beam Etch (IBE) processes.
Demonstrated knowledge of magnetic material properties and phenomenon.
Master’s degree and/or equivalent work experience.
You might also have:
Experience in vacuum processing and Reactive Ion Etch (RIE)
Experience in the deposition and control of magnetic thin films.
Experience working with engineering statistics is also essential.
